Northumberland Holiday and Short Breaks Guide – Reader Research 2017

The results of our annual research into the users of our Northumberland Holiday and Short Breaks Guide 2017 are now available.

The visitors we surveyed told us that their average spend when they were here was £754.58, giving a possible total spend for all visitors using the guide of £11.4million.

2017 research has shown that 87% of readers of the 2017 Holiday Guide found the guide influential or extremely influential in their decision to visit Northumberland, and 20.3% booked a holiday in Northumberland after reading the Guide.

Direct bookings from the holiday guide has INCREASED from 2016 showing the power of print advertising. Just because you can't count the clicks, does not mean you haven't made a lasting impression on readers.

DOL16The Northumberland Days Out and Attractions leaflet is the county’s only county-wide post arrival information leaflet. In 2016 250,000 of these leaflets were produced and distributed to a range of outlets within a 3 hour drive time of the county.

Due to advertising demand we increased the size of the leaflet and advertising space was completely sold out.

This year, research has shown that 87% of readers of the 2016 Holiday Guide found the guide influential or extremely influential in their decision to visit Northumberland, and 15% booked a holiday in Northumberland after reading the Guide.
