Website entry renewals ahead of target

Thank you to the businesses who have decided to continue to advertise on www.visitnorthumberland.com. We've had a great response selling twice as many entries as we expected to in May. Website advertisers can now monitor their advertisements on-line, seeing how many people view their information and how many then click through to their own website.
Coast AONB advert for new member

The Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Partnership are seeking to fill a vacant volunteer place as a Special Interest Member on the Partnership. Interest is sought from individuals with specialist knowledge of the AONB that might include landscape, natural and cultural heritage, tourism or local business interests. If you live in, work in, or visit the AONB regularly, care about its future and can spare a few days a year to attend some meetings, events and site visits then they would like to hear from you.
A697 update

Following some concerns about the forthcoming road closures on the A697, Northumberland County Council has issued an update on these planned highways improvements.
The Council is carefully taking into consideration the impact that these works will have on both local businesses and residents.

Marketing fund success

VisitEngland’s bid for £19.8 million funding from the Regional Growth Fund for destination marketing has been successful. This is great news for Northumberland, as Northumberland Tourism is one of 14 partners who will directly benefit. As long as we can generate matching contributions from local businesses, we will have access to funding over 3 years to promote the county and build on our success to date. Exact amounts have yet to be confirmed.
