Business listings to be removed from England and Britain websites

VisitEngland this week emailed all quality assessed businesses stating that business listings on the EnjoyEngland and VisitBritain websites will be removed from the 1st April 2012. VisitEngland state that national websites will carry “more engaging imagery and inspiring ideas to encourage and direct web traffic to the destination website”. In the same email they confirmed the re-appointment of Quality in Tourism to manage and develop the national quality schemes, and the introduction of a number of new benefits.

Desti.ne to continue

Desti.ne is the name of the IT system used by destinations across the North East to power their websites (including VisitNorthumberland.com), and provide business listings to national commercial websites and Tourist Information Centres. Funded by One North East, from April 1st Desti.ne will be managed and paid for by the Northumberland Visitor Economy Partnership (NVEP) / Northumberland Tourism.
