North East England Tourism Awards 2017 Shortlist Announced

Tourism businesses across the North East are keeping their diaries free for one of the most important events of the year as the shortlist for the North East Tourism Awards is announced.

Northumberland performed exceptionally well again, with 60% of shortlisted entrants from the county. Playing a major role in showcasing the range of high quality tourism businesses and experiences on offer to visitors across the North East.

The top three finalists in each category at the North East England Tourism Awards also have the chance to compete on a national stage against businesses from England’s other regions at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.

St Cuthbert's House and Battlesteads Hotel and Restaurant went on to scoop gold at the 2017 national awards, while other successful North East finalists included Rockcliffe Hall, The Tankerville Arms, and Beamish, The Living Museum of the North.

Winners will be announced at a glittering celebration on Thursday 16th November 2017 at The Boiler Shop in partnership with Crowne Plaza Newcastle in the Stephenson Quarter. Hosted by BBC Radio Newcastle breakfast show presenter, Alfie Joey, tickets to attend the awards are priced at £65 and are available now at
