Northumberland Tourism is the county's Destination Management Organisation.
Our primary role is to deliver the aims and objectives of Northumberland's tourism strategy – the Area Tourism Management Plan (ATMaP).

Developed through consultation with businesses and various public and community organisations operating in Northumberland, and informed by the latest research, the Area Tourism Management action Plan (ATMaP) provides the framework for actions to be undertaken by a wide range of agencies, organisations and the business community over the next five years.

Our directors

Northumberland Tourism has a Board of nine directors drawn from private and public sector backgrounds. The Board meets 6 times a year, plus monthly meetings of the Finance & HR Committee, and additional time given to project steering groups and business planning days. The chair receives a small annual payment and all other directors are unpaid.

Tourism makes up 11.8% of Northumberland's economy, 2.7% higher than the national average and contributes £665 million to the economy.
